Building the Future of Food
APAC-SCA has instigated and worked on various programmes aimed to drive regional synergies, coordinate science-based regulatory frameworks and raise consumer awareness to create safe, fair and transparent pathways for the industry to achieve commercialisation.

One of the programme is the APAC Regulatory Coordination Forum (www.cellagforum.info). Instigated by APAC-SCA, we partnered with the Good Food Institute APAC to establish the Forum in 2023 as a formal mechanism for continuous and systematic cross-border dialogue between companies, industry associations, think tanks, governmental agencies and food regulators in different jurisdictions.
In 2024, a pair of new white papers developed under the Forum seeks to examine current gaps in two topics of regulatory significance - cell line development and cell culture media components - and offer potential solutions and pathways for collaboration among academia, the industry, and food safety regulators. The white papers are available for download: https://www.cellagforum.info/apac-regulatory-coordination-forum-white-papers-2024

Two new topics have been selected for development in 2025, with the outcomes to be published during the Singapore International Agrifood Week.
